** Firman Tuhan : Ayub 27:4 **
"Maka bibirku sungguh-sungguh tidak akan mengucapkan kecurangan, dan lidahku tidak akan melahirkan tipu daya."
Ada seorang yang menuliskan dalam status Blackberry: "Manusia butuh 2-3 tahun untuk belajar berbicara, tetapi butuh sedikitnya 50 tahun untuk menjaga kata-katanya." Mungkin pernyataan tersebut lahir dari pengalaman hidupnya berkaitan dengan kesulitan menjaga perkataan. Menjaga perkataan memang bukanlah perkara mudah bagi siapa pun.
Menjaga perkataan atau lidah dapat dilakukan dengan banyak cara. Ayub memberikan contoh dua cara dalam menjaga lidah, yakni tidak mengucapkan kecurangan dan tidak "melahirkan" tipu daya. Perkataan yang tidak hanya asal ucap, tetapi lahir dari komitmen seorang pria yang mengenal Allahnya. Ayub berkomitmen untuk menjaga perkataannya selama nafas masih ada padanya dan roh Allah masih di dalam lubang hidungnya (Ayub 27 : 3). Tak heran jika Ayub disebut sebagai orang yang saleh, jujur, takut akan Allah, dan menjauhi kejahatan (Ayub 1:1). Kedua hal tersebut memang berkaitan erat, bahkan tidak dapat dipisahkan. Pengenalan seseorang akan Allah tentu berdampak pada perkataan yang meluncur dari bibirnya.
Lidah memang buas, tetapi bukan berarti tak dapat dikendalikan. Sebagai orang benar, hendaknya ucapan kita dijauhkan dari segala bentuk kecurangan maupun tipu daya, apa pun alasannya. Sekalipun orang-orang di sekitar kita mengucapkan kecurangan atau tipu daya, kiranya kita dikenal sebagai pribadi yang dapat menjaga perkataan. Biarlah lidah kita menyatakan kebenaran Allah.

"My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit."

learn to speak, but it took at least 50 years to keep his word." Perhaps the statement is born out of his experiences related to the difficulty of keeping the words. Keeping the word is not an easy thing for anyone.
Keeping the words or tongue can be done in many ways. Job gives two examples of ways in keeping the tongue, which is not saying cheating and not "give birth" trickery. Words are not only the origin of said, but was born from the commitment of a man who knew his God. Job is committed to keeping his word for breath is still available to it and the spirit of God is in his nostrils (Job 27: 3). No wonder if Job is described as a pious, honest, God-fearing, and depart from evil (Job 1: 1). Both are indeed closely linked, even inseparable. The introduction of a person will certainly have an impact on the words of God that came from his lips.
The tongue is wild, but it does not mean that can not be controlled. As the righteous, our words should be kept away from any kind of fraud or deceit, whatever the reason. Even the people around us say fraud or deceit, we would be known as a person who can keep the word. Let us proclaim the truth of God's tongue.
