99 BaLon (99 Balloons)

** Firman Tuhan: Ayub 14:14-15 **
"Maka aku akan menaruh harap selama hari-hari pergumulanku, sampai tiba giliranku... Engkau akan rindu kepada buatan tangan-Mu"

       Dua bulan sebelum lahir, Eliot Mooney divonis menderita Edwards Syndrome, penyakit yang tak memungkinkannya untuk lahir selamat. Orangtuanya berdoa memohon mukjizat, dan Eliot pun lahir. Namun, kondisinya memprihatinkan: paru-parunya tak berkembang sempurna, jantungnya berlubang, dan DNAnya memberi informasi keliru pada setiap sel tubuhnya. Setelah dua minggu Eliot diizinkan pulang dengan tiga peralatan medis menempel di tubuhnya, termasuk tabung oksigen dan selang untuk memasukkan susu.

       Eliot kecil bertahan dan bertumbuh walaupun tak secepat anak seusianya. Sebulan, dua bulan, tiga bulan. Uniknya, orangtua Eliot merayakan "ulang tahun"-nya setiap hari. Sebab, satu hari saja merupakan perjuangan berat baginya untuk hidup. Maka, setiap hari mereka merayakan kemenangannya. Hingga akhirnya, pada hari ke-99, Eliot kembali kepada Yesus. Pada hari pemakamannya, 99 balon dilepaskan -masing-masing mewakili ucapan syukur atas setiap hari yang Eliot habiskan di bumi.

       Ketika Ayub mengalami penderitaan yang sangat berat, kematian membayanginya. Ia disadarkan akan betapa fana hidup manusia. Namun, Ayub berkata bahwa selama Tuhan masih memberinya hidup, ia akan terus berharap. Dan, bila kelak waktunya tiba, ia akan bahagia karena itu berarti Allah merindukannya pulang!

       Sudahkah kita mensyukuri setiap hari yang Tuhan beri? Mensyukuri hidup kita dan orang-orang di sekitar kita? Jangan membuang satu hari pun untuk hal sia-sia. Selama kesempatan ada, hiduplah maksimal bagi Dia.

** Scripture: Job 14:14-15 **
"Then I'll put hope for pergumulanku days, until it was my turn ... you'll miss the works of your hands"

        Two months before the birth, Eliot Mooney was sentenced to suffer Edwards Syndrome, a disease that is not allowed to be born safely. His parents prayed for a miracle, and Eliot was born. However, the condition is poor: his lungs not fully developed, hollow heart, and their DNA gave false information in every cell of his body. After two weeks of Eliot allowed home with three on her medical equipment, including oxygen cylinders and hoses to include milk.

        Small Eliot survive and grow, although not as fast as his age. A month, two months, three months. Interestingly, Eliot parents celebrate "birthday" of her every day. Therefore, a single day is a struggle for him to live. So, each day they celebrate his victory. Until finally, on the 99th day, Eliot returned to Jesus. On the day of his funeral, released 99 balloons-each representing a day of thanksgiving for all that Eliot spent on earth.

        When Job suffered very heavy, death shadows. He was made aware of how mortal human life. However, Job said that as long as God still gave him life, he will continue to hope. And, when one day time comes, he will be happy because it means God miss home!

        Have we appreciate every day that God gives? Grateful for our lives and those around us? Do not throw a single day for it in vain. As long as there is opportunity, there lived up to Him.
