** Firman Tuhan: 1 Korintus 12:20 ** 
"Memang ada banyak anggota, tetapi hanya satu tubuh." 

       Apa yang membuat puzzle dapat menjadi sebuah gambar? Ketika potongan-potongan gambar yang ada disusun sesuai dengan posisinya. Jika potongan itu berserakan, yang terlihat adalah gambar yang berantakan dan tak jelas. Menampatkan potongan pada posisi yang tepat membut gambar menjadi jelas dan indah.

        Alkitab berkata bahwa di dalam gereja kita memiliki bagian kita masing-masing, kita memiliki peran yang unik. Kita memiliki talenta yang Tuhan berikan secara khusus. Menjadi masalah jika kita tidak menempatkan diri pada posisi yang tepat. Sekecil apa pun talenta yang kita miliki, jika kita memerankannya secara optimal, kita akan menampilkan gambar Yesus yang jelas bagi dunia. Dunia perlu melihat Yesus dengan jelas. Caranya bukan dengan memiliki gedung yang besar. Kalau itu tolok ukurnya, banyak perusahaan bisnis yang memiliki gedung menjulang. Juga bukan mukjizat dan tanda karena dukun-dukun pun bisa melakukannya. Lalu apa? Ketika orang percaya bersatu di dalam kasih, memerankan bagiannya tanpa berbantah-bantahan, di situlah dunia melihat bahwa kita adalah murid-murid-Nya.

        Kita perlu merenungkan, apakah kita sudah berperan secara optimal sebagai murid-Nya? Apakah kita sudah melayani satu sama lain, atau justru saling mendengki dan iri hati? Tak perlu iri dengan teman pelayanan yang lebih tenar, tak perlu minder karena pelayanan yang kita lakukan sepertinya pelayanan yang kecil dan tak terkenal. Ingat, meskipun kecil, peran kita dapat memancarkan wajah Tuhan Yesus.

** Firman Tuhan: Yeremia 11:20 **

"Tetapi, TUHAN semesta alam, yang menghakimi dengan adil, yang menguji batin dan hati, biarlah aku melihat pembalasan-Mu terhadap mereka, sebab kepada-Mulah kuserahkan perkaraku."

       Di tengah kesulitan karena tidak ada yang memercayai pemberitaannya, Yeremia senantiasa taat kepada firman Tuhan. Dalam bagian ini, ia diutus untuk menyampaikan firman kepada bangsa Yehuda dan penduduk Yerusalem. Meskipun nubuatannya keras, ia menginginkan bangsanya bertobat dan berbalik kepada Allah.

       Sayangnya, harapannya tidak menjadi kenyataan. Firman yang ia sampaikan menimbulkan sakit hati bagi banyak kelompok yang menentangnya. Kelompok penentang ini menyusun rencana dan mengancam untuk membunuh Yeremia. Mendapatkan ancaman seperti itu, Yeremia tentu dapat kecewa, sakit hati, dan berusaha membalas. Namun, ia tidak membiarkan hatinya terpengaruh. Ia meneguhkan hati dan dan menyerahkan segala perkaranya kepada Tuhan yang sanggup membelanya.

       Ketika kita belajar untuk hidup dalam kebenaran firman-Nya, masalah dan tantangan dapat menerpa kita, menimbulkan kekecewaan dan sakit hati. Tentu saja, kita tidak perlu membiarkan persoalan tersebut tetap bercokol di dalam hati kita, mencemari hati kita. Kita dapat mengikuti jejak Yeremia, yang tidak mengizinkan rasa kecewa dan sakit hati mengotori hatinya. Ia tahu Tuhan menghakimi dengan adil serta menguji batin dan hati. Untuk menjaga hati kita tetap bersih, kita perlu menyerahkan segala perkara ke dalam tangan Tuhan dan menyerahkan pembalasan kepada-Nya, yang berhak menjalankannya. Hati kita akan tenang dan damai sejahtera ketika kita menolak untuk membalas perlakuan buruk yang kita alami.

       Suatu kali saya mendapat perintah dari atasan di kantor untuk memanggil salah seorang rekan kerja saya untuk segera menghadapnya. Ketika saya menyampaikan pesan ini dengan menyebut nama atasan tersebut, reaksinya terlihat jelas. Ekspresi wajahnya tampak terkejut, dan ia tergesa-gesa menuju kantor atasan.

       Bartimeus, pengemis yang buta itu, memahami benar betapa berkuasanya nama Yesus. Sekalipun tidak melihat, namun ia mendengar dan percaya! Ya, ia hanya mendengar dari cerita orang tentang Yesus yang telah melakukan banyak mujizat kesembuhan. Dari mendengar, Bartimeus beriman. Iman itulah yang memberinya keyakinan bahwa Yesus mampu memberinya kesembuhan. Ketika kesempatan itu tiba, saat didengarnya bahwa Yesus tiba di Yerikho dan akan melewatinya, ia pun mulai memanggil-Nya dengan suara keras, "Yesus, Anak Daud, kasihanilah Aku!" (Markus 10:47). Imannya kepada nama Yesus, nama yang penuh kuasa itu, terbukti memberinya kesembuhan. Iman itu memberinya mukjizat (Markus 10:52).

       Kita dengan mudah mengucapkan nama Yesus dalam lagu pujian atau doa kita. Setiap kali kita mengakhiri sebuah doa, kita akan berkata, "Dalam nama Yesus atau demi nama Yesus. Amin!" Tahukah kita bahwa penyebutan nama itu bukanlah sekadar pengakuan kosong, tetapi sebuah pengakuan iman bahwa Dia berkuasa dan hadir dalam diri kita? Marilah kita menyadari betapa mulianya nama Yesus itu sehingga kita memberikan penghormatan yang selayaknya. 

NAMA YESUS ADALAH NAMA YANG PENUH KUASA, 

PERLAKUKANLAH DENGAN PENGHORMATAN YANG SELAYAKNYA.

       Saat ini keadaan begitu sulit dan kadang menakutkan. Banyak orang sulit memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari dan keamanan diri pun terancam. Orang tak segan menindas atau bahkan menghabisi nyawa sesamanya hanya karena persoalan sepele. Tak ayal, ketika ada orang berbuat baik, orang kadang berkomentar, "Masih ada orang seperti itu ya?" Mereka heran karena sulit menemukan orang yang baik di tengah masyarakat.
       
       Dunia ini memberikan seribu alasan untuk mengeluh dan bersungut-sungut, tetapi orang yang memercayai Allah akan tetap bersyukur. Itulah yang dialami oleh pemazmur dalam keadaan yang begitu sulit. Ia dikepung malapetaka dan kematian (Mazmur 40:13, 15), serta sengsara dan miskin (ay. 18). Akan tetapi, ia memilih untuk tetap memercayai Allah. Ia pun memperoleh kelegaan. Pertama, ia diselamatkan dari kebinasaan yang mengepungnya (Mazmur 40:3a). Kedua, ia dikuatkan dalam menghadapi masalah dan dituntun oleh Tuhan (Mazmur 40:3b). Ketiga, Tuhan menaruh ucapan syukur dalam mulutnya (Mazmur 40:4a). Dan keempat, kehidupannya memberikan dampak sosial yang baik sehingga ada orang-orang yang datang kepada Tuhan (Mazmur 40:4b).

       Dengan melihat teladan yang diberikan oleh pemazmur dalam menghadapi persoalan hidupnya yang begitu sulit, kita juga dapat memilih untuk memercayai Allah dalam keadaan apa pun. Allah pasti menolong, menguatkan, dan memberikan hati yang tetap bersyukur kepada kita. Kiranya orang lain melihat perbuatan Allah yang menakjubkan melaui hidup kita sehingga mendorong mereka untuk datang memercayai Allah. 

KEYAKINAN AKAN KEMAHAKUASAAN ALLAH MEMAMPUKAN KITA

UNTUK TETAP PERCAYA PADA-NYA DALAM SEGALA KEADAAN.

       Sepintas ayat diatas hanya merupakan sepenggal kisah perjalanan. Namun, jika dilihat lebih dalam, itu adalah bagian dari ketaatan Yusuf kepada orang tua dan saudara-saudaranya. Ia adalah anak yang bertaburan fasilitas, termasuk kasih sayang, tetapi menuruti perintah ayahnya (Kejadian 37:13). Dari Kanaan ke Sikhem diminta mengirim bekal, ia tidak membantah. Apabila hal itu berlangsung beberapa jam saja, Yusuf akan tewas. Namun, yang terjadi selanjutnya Yusuf diangkat dari sumur tua. How come? Yehuda yang juga punya "track record" bejat, tidak bermoral, dan mata duitan, tiba-tiba punya usul untuk mencari uang dengan menjual Yusuf ke orang Ismael.Namun, justru disanalah awal kejayaan Yusuf.

       Dunia ini penuh dengan orang jahat. Kita merasa diimpit kesulitan,terintimidasi berbagai pihat serta terancam oleh keadaan, baik dilingkungan kantor maupun masyarakat. Bagaiman menghadapi orang jahat? Cara kekerasan atau cara halus,biasanya dua pikihan itu yang mengemuka dalam menghadapi kasus orang jahat. Yang lebih tepat tentunya adalah mengandalkan Tuhan. Biralah Tuhan yang menangani orang jahat. Jika kita mau hidup taat seperti Yusuf dan senantiasa mengandalkan Tuhan dalam hidup,semua masalah bisa diselesaikan. Kita bisa diangkat dari berbagai kesulitan, tekanan, lubang, dan lembah kekelaman.

       Bahkan orang jahatpun bisa dipakai sebagai sarana untuk mengangkat kita. Ada saja jalan keluar untuk kasus yang pelik dan dilematis dalam menghadapi orang jahat.Intinya satu saja, cara paling efektif untuk mengatas mereka yang jahat adalah menyerahkan kepada Tuhan,apalagi jika berdampak lebih buruk bila kita tangani sendiri dengan penuh emosi. Biarlah Tuhan yang berperang melawan mereka. Kalau perlu kita doakan mereka agar mereka bisa dipakai Tuhan untuk membantu kita.

KETIKA KITA ADA DI DALAM TUHAN, DARI DALAM SUMUR KEHIDUPAN YANG GELAP PEKAT PUN TUHAN BISA MENGANGKAT KITA.

       Ayub orang terkaya pada masanya, saleh dan takut akan Allah. Dia memiliki banyak harta dan hidupnya damai sejahtera. Dia menikmati hari-harinya dengan bersemangat. Lalu, Tuhan mengizinkan Iblis mengambil semua yang ia miliki. Seluruh tubuhnya -- dari telapak kaki sampai batu kepalanya -- pun penuh dengan barah busuk. Orang dapat melihat dengan jelas betapa berat penderitaan. Tetapi, Ayub tidak protes: "Saya sudah melakukan semua kehendak-Mu, mengapa hal ini terjadi sama saya?" Ayub justru berkata, "Aku akan melompat-lompat kegirangan di waktu kepedihan yang tak kenal belas kasihan, sebab aku tidak pernah menyangkal Firman Yang Mahakudus" (Ayub 6:10). Artinya, Ayub siap menerima baik perkara yang baik maupun perkara yang buruk dari Tuhan.

       Ketekunan Ayub berbuah. Pada pasal terakhir kitab Ayub, Tuhan memulihkan keadaan Ayub dan Tuhan memberikan kepadanya dua kali lipat dari segala kepunyaannya dulu. Ayub memilih tetap berpegang pada Tuhan, entah dalam keadaan baik entah dalam keadaan buruk. Terbukti, Tuhan tidak pernah membawa kita kepada keadaan yang melampaui kekuatan kita.

       Mungkin yang kita alami tidak separah pengalaman Ayub. Namun, saat melewati keadaan yang buruk, masih bisakah kita percaya penuh pada Tuhan dan janji-janji-Nya? Apa yang kita lakukan jika bisnis kita gagal atau terjadi peristiwa yang tidak kita harapkan, padahal kita sudah aktif dalam pelayanan? Apakah kita akan protes atau tetap percaya bahwa janji Tuhan itu ya dan amin?

       Masyarakat cenderung menerakan stigma tertentu pada golongan orang tertentu.        Allah mau umat-Nya belajar memandang orang lain seperti ia memandang dirinya sendiri. Orang yang mampu mengasihi sesama seperti dirinya sendiri -- termasuk menghargai orang lain tanpa melihat status sosial atau penampilan fisiknya -- sedang berbuat baik (Yak 2:8). Sikap seperti ini selayaknya dijalankan secara konsisten dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
Bagaimana kita menerapkan iman selama ini? Apakah kita menyimak nasihat Rasul Yakobus ini manakala berinteraksi dengan sesama? Mari kita bersama-sama belajar menilai seseorang bukan dari penampilan luarnya, melainkan seperti cara Tuhan memandang diri kita.

"My brothers, as believers in Jesus Christ, our blessed Lord, that your faith should not glory with partiality."


        Society tends menerakan certain stigma on certain classes of people. People who stayed at the hotel without cost or correctional institution, for example, no doubt getting a negative stigma and tend disingkiri. Not a few inmates who have difficulty mingling with the public again when her term ended. As a result, instead of returning society fairly, they instead fall back into the criminal world.

        In the life of faith, menerakan negative stigma on others is reprehensible attitude. The Apostle James called it a prejudice, which differentiates treatment of others because of their social status. What we see with our physical eyes can easily deceive because humans can not know the hearts and minds of others. Differential treatment to the rich and the poor is an example of a common, including in the church.

        God wants His people learn to see others as he sees himself. People who are capable of loving one's neighbor as oneself - including respect for others regardless of social status or physical appearance - being kind (James 2:8). This attitude should be run consistently in daily life.

How do we apply for this faith? Are we listening to the advice of the Apostle James when interacting with others? Let us work together to learn not to judge people from their appearance, but the way God views us.
